1 The term `generalized Bessel function' seems to have no unique meaning in mathematics. The functions given that name by Paciorek & Chapuis (1994[link]) belong to a different group.
2 Exceptions to this statement may be important for line and area detectors, or if an interpolation function is used to estimate background. Wilson (1967[link]) has discussed some features of the powder diffractometry case.
