International Tables for Crystallography

The 17 plane groups (two-dimensional space groups)
 International Tables for Crystallography (2006). Vol. A, ch. 6.1, pp. 92-109  [ doi:10.1107/97809553602060000512 ]

Diagrams and data for the two-dimensional plane groups are presented. The diagrams show the symmetry elements and the general position. The data include: the origin; the asymmetric unit; the symmetry operations; the generators selected; the positions, with multiplicities, site symmetries, coordinates and reflection conditions; the maximal non-isomorphic subgroups; the maximal isomorphic subgroups of lowest index; and the minimal non-isomorphic supergroups.

About International Tables for Crystallography

International Tables for Crystallography is the definitive resource and reference work for crystallography. The series consists of nine volumes and comprises articles and tables of data relevant to crystallographic research and to applications of crystallographic methods in all sciences concerned with the structure and properties of materials.
